    Our client is seeking a passionate and mission-driven leader to help scale their People focused, software-enabled business dedicated to creating a more healthy, sustainable planet. The VP, Total Rewards will help enable, recognize and reward a unique mix of employee talent, from technologists to scientists to farmers, breaking new ground and motivating employees that are leading the way to battling climate crisis and creating a healthy and sustainable food ecosystem.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Design and lead a technology-enabled global total rewards strategy, establishing goals, objectives, policies and processes aligned with HR and business objectives and in support of business shifts to software- enabled products and the growth of a B2B partnership model.
    • Act as a thought leader to drive the company’s evolving people function in a highly dynamic industry; make Indigo’s mission and values actionable, creating an EVP and employment brand that attracts, retains and grows top talent.
    • Own and lead Compensation, Benefits and People Systems, creating a consultative Total Rewards practice with highly effective and timely communications.
    • Oversee and scale the People Operations Desk (POD) as the primary entry point for Tier 1 People questions and support. Maintain strong partnership with the PBP’s to create and meet SLA’s for the business.
    • Lead the design of highly effective compensation programs and practices, including competitive market salary structures, incentive programs and equity plans up to the Executive level. Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to the Executive and People Teams, monitoring market trends and upgrading programs as appropriate.
    • In partnership with the lead Executives and CPO, provide timely data, proposals and recommendations to Indigo’s Board of Directors and Board Compensation Committee.
    • Lead and support holistic benefits and wellness planning, including a robust offering of voluntary benefits and company-sponsored employee perks.
    • Lead and grow the People Systems function, fully utilizing Workday; maintain a platform for manager and employee self-service as a strategic enabler for the company.
    • People Team effectiveness and contribute to improvements in and outside of the Total Rewards function. Support the business with effective employee engagement, providing a structure for rich communication and honest feedback that drives satisfaction, employee engagement and performance that links directly to Indigo’s mission and goals.

    Education & Experience

    • Strategic Total Rewards Leadership: 10+ years of leadership across the HR function, including compensation, benefits, people operations and systems. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience working in a global environment.
    • Building/Scaling Experience: Has led in a rapidly scaling environment, from at least 500 to 15,00+ employees. Experience with an IPO a plus. Ability to prioritize and execute on today’s challenges while maintaining a strategic mindset to deliver against future business needs. Track record of building cost effective, highly- competitive people programs.
    • Strong Technical Acumen: Has led development of equity programs, including plan design and public reporting. Understands B2B software businesses or has worked in a software-enabled services organization and has a track record of attracting and retaining talent from these sectors. Has demonstrated ability to build tech-enabled processes that support business strategies. Data driven and analytical.
    • Stakeholder Management: A superior influencer with strong communication skills and a track record of acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization as well as external partners.
    • Link Purpose & Culture: Understand business levers and align focus on company values; create a distinctive EVP while building deep, trusting relationships.
