Boston Children's Hospital & Research Enterprise has initiated a search for a VP, Organizational Development and Learning. Reporting to the EVP-CHRO, this new position will direct the strategic planning, design, implementation, and administration of all learning and talent development programs. It is a hands-on leadership role assessing, aligning, and driving the outcome of organizational development and learning strategies that develop people, increase retention, drive business outcomes, and enable a diverse, high-performance culture.
This new VP will join a talented and transformative HR leadership team. Major strides have been made in Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning, Total Rewards strategy and design, HR operations and employee engagement. It’s now time to optimize organizational effectiveness, talent development, and learning.
The call to action is to facilitate robust talent discussions and assessments across the organization, to develop leadership competencies that can be cascaded into the organization, and to create learning strategy and custom curriculum for the enterprise. Additionally, driving greater performance accountability, preparing the organization to communicate meaningful change, and anticipating emerging challenges that will require talent or organizational solutions will be critical for success.
The VP Org Development & Learning needs to be a listener and leader who is visible across the organization, shares BCH values of Respect- Kindness-Teamwork -Inclusivity; and passion and energy for creating and executing a robust talent and learning strategy.
Competitive and commensurate with experience to include base, target bonus, and both pension and defined contribution plans
- Collaborate with the CHRO, the CDO and VPs of TA and TR, and select stakeholders across BCH in proposing both a Talent Development strategy and a Learning strategy
- Build Talent Management architecture via needs analysis of competencies, skills and behaviors, the means and methods get them, and the metrics to be used to determine proficiency
- Talent Review & Development: Create and facilitate a talent review process that engages leadership in assessing and developing select talent across the organization. Offer input and options, challenge perceptions, and provide insight on individual and organizational strengths and gaps. Lead the difficult discussions needed to ensure a strong talent bench exists and aligns with the people and organizational capability implications inherent in the strategic plan.
