• Our client is a biotechnology company based in Cambridge and is seeking an energetic and highly driven professional for this newly created position.  The People Strategy Director will play a critical role in the organizational growth and development of the company, with primary responsibility for providing organization-wide HR leadership, direction, and delivery of HR services that align with the needs and growth phase of the business.

    Reporting to the CEO, the People Strategy Director will be the internal expert and “glue” for everything related to human resources. This person will work with leadership on all aspects of the employee lifecycle from talent acquisition, on-boarding & performance management to talent development, employee engagement, compensation & benefits. The position supports the company strategy to hire and retain the best talent and to develop the HR capability and infrastructure as the company continues to grow.

    Specific responsibilities will include:

    • Bring best practices and external perspectives to people management decision-making
    • Responsible for directing human resource policies and programs that support achievement of the company's business objectives
    • Develop and oversee the company’s talent acquisition process including partnering with managers on developing accurate job descriptions, sourcing and interviewing candidates, coordinating next steps, assessing final candidates, and creating offer packages
    • Lead the new hire on-boarding effort and support hiring managers in developing their overall orientation plans; work with hiring managers to generate offers, communicate with employees prior to start date, and provide any necessary support to properly prepare for new hire arrivals
    • Work with team leaders to identify and develop growth opportunities and plans for strong performers, including a combination of training, coaching, stretch assignments and self-directed learning
    • Coach employees and managers on developing their skills and growing their careers, in current and/or future roles; leverage career ladders across organization, and ensure that career growth is perceived as a tangible opportunity and benefit of working for the company
    • Ensure progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs (appropriate to the stage of the business’ growth and maturity) that serve the organization well from recruiting and retention perspectives and ensure the long-term viability of the company’s workforce plans
    • Direct and complete human resources processes, including annual performance assessments and management, calibration, and compensation planning (job analysis & evaluation to determine job level, base salary, and career ladders; promotion process and criteria; workforce planning and implementation; and Succession Planning and Talent Review)

    • Demonstrates the ability to be involved at various levels and a willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves” to do whatever it takes to drive results; not hindered by protocol or process
    • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
    • 8-12 years of progressive HR experience
    • Experience in high growth & fast-paced environment with a strong preference for prior biotech industry experience; supporting a commercial organization a plus
